ABOUT MOODY HUES

Moody Hues Photography was born out of three passions... creativity, nature & dog walking.

Through years of walking my dogs, I was able to see so many beautiful things that nature presented me. Through the changing of the seasons and the 'wonderfully' diverse weather we have here in England, so many photo opportunities were missed. Getting my first professional level camera was the best decision I could have made. Not only for shooting what the Norfolk countryside has to offer, but capturing the joy these long walks brought to my dogs too.

This brings me to my trusty little walking companions; you could say my initial motivator to get out there and explore. Firstly it was Millie, a border terrier born in 2007 and my first dog. Some years later Errol, born in 2015 and another border terrier, came into our lives. Such happy characters and very much loved, these two are an important part of our daily family life. Our annual trips to the Lake District is always a highlight for them. Hiking for miles in the mountains by day (including Scafell Pike no less), and dozing in a cosy cottage by evening.

A career of 20 years and counting in the design industry and studying at university has given me valuable skills and experience along the way. Among these skills, which i've been able to transfer into my photography, is composition, image editing, retouching. Much experienced in Photoshop, I've developed my own unique 'moody' style which comes through in all my shoots giving each image a more evocative and personal feel. Perfect for pet photography.

Regularly posting Millie & Errol's adventures (with the added 'moody' touch) to Instagram has attracted a wonderfully engaged following of over 14,000. As a result I received lots of requests to do the same from owners and their dogs. How could I refuse meeting likeminded owners and their amazing dogs?!

Moody Hues was created.
